President Greg Benesh started the meeting (2:56 pm) in the Board Room of the
Activity Center.

G Benesh: Reminded all of these upcoming events and tasks. New Directory with
Tom Taylor and Richard McLeod will be complied in the next few weeks, like the
previous year, showing CMC events & dates, plus membership phone and email.
New Member Breakfast will be March 16. Board members are welcome to
attend. There is a new TV monitor in the Card Room for a presentation. We don’t
have a caterer, yet.

To all Board members, we will be looking for 4 Positions to fill on our existing
Board when the term is completed Fall of 2025

Perry Esterson: Course Maintenance Perry said the City of Wilsonville has
approved the creation of the new “Cart Barn”. It is expected in May, next to the
Tennis Club and #1 Yellow fairway. In June, 48 new carts will be leased for the
Barn, with many of the old ones replaced. The new practice Sand Trap area & the
new Warm up Net replacement to be ready in the Spring. The Red Course
drainage project will be delayed again until 2026

S Groshong & Chris Bensel: Invitational 2025 – Spence presented the New
Invitational Application (after feedback from a membership survey and general
input). Spence worked on this ‘New’ application with Chris Bensel, as well as,
Dale Owen and Don Larson. (a copy will be submitted for the records) The Board
discussed the new format (two 18-hole rounds, early shotgun starts, no grand
dinner, a Friday award luncheon with spouses. The same price $275/player as last
year, and a FJ windshirt plus golf balls to each player. No designated practice
round, but will have the horse race and putting contest, as well as LD and KP
events, etc.) Will limit the Invitational to 56 teams (2 man). The CWGA help with
registration and events. The CWGA will be paid $1500. The format can be
tweaked, if needed, only by vote of the entire CMC Board. Chris Bensel said the
luncheon in place of the ‘dinner’ was to avoid many of the players going home –
then coming back to the clubhouse after their team rounds, and the awards
luncheon will allow for a much wider selection of caterers than does a dinner. We
agreed that the new format. It would be worth a try in 2025.

As far as the games played for the Invitational tournament, the Thursday event
will be 9 hole – Best Ball/and 9 hole – Shamble. The Friday event will be 9 hole –
Alternate shot/ and 9 hole – Scramble. Golf Genius is able to handle the scoring.
By Voice vote of the Board, a ‘Shamble’ was decided upon instead of going
‘Stableford’ for the 2 nd 9 holes on Friday.

R McLeod: Membership Due to a medical appointment, Richard was unable to
attend this meeting. He reported that Membership to-date is 214. He also
provided a list of non-renewals for 2025. The Board split up the list of 40
individuals to contact.

T Bonino: Social & Publicity Due to a medical appointment and recent surgery,
Tim was unable to attend this meeting. Tim did a wonderful job with the
Chili/Chowder Feed event in January. Our Treasurer released the numbers for
this event: Tickets, contributions, etc. raised $3188; Expenses were $1780, for a
nifty profit of $1408 for the Scholarship fund.

M Williams: Treasurer Due to a medical appointment, Mike was unable to
attend this meeting. He provided an updated Income statement and Balance
Sheet (1/31/25) to all the Board members prior to this meeting. (a copy will be
kept for the record).

G Harp & T Tyler: Tournaments Gene expressed the belief that the year-end
Charbonneau Cup should be recognized by the membership as a “Premier Event”.
All Board members agreed. Gene said the Event needs more $ and to do this, a
social event (like the Chili/Chowder) is being arranged for March 19 th . Gene, Tim
and John Meyers want to have a “Spaghetti Dinner Night” in March for the entire
community which will also feature the “KC Rhythm Kings” with proceeds going to
a fund for the C Cup Event. Need is for ‘seed money’ to increase the prizes since
the field of qualified players has grown from top 32, to 36. Gene and Tim
explained that the points earned each week of the season by members supporting
the CMC events should be recognized with a bigger prize pool. This gives the
players much more incentive to get into the top 36 at the end of the season.

Lloyd Johnson announced that he would donate $500 to the seed money fund for
the C Cup event. John Meyers has plenty of experience with coordinating dinner
events of this nature. We may add to this fund through % revenue gained from
one of the CMC sponsored Men’s Night Out – not determined yet. By voice vote,
the Board expressed majority support of a “Spaghetti Dinner” in March to raise
funds for the Charbonneau Cup. There were two abstaining votes.

B Stout: Pairing & Scoring Bill announced that a “refresher” session with Golf
Genius would be scheduled before the start of the season.
T Vaughn: Nine – Hole Group Tom reported there are 27 nine-hole renewals for
this coming season. So far, 52 members indicated they will play either 9 or 18.
They will start play on March 19. With the talk of the Charbonneau Cup, Tom
said the 9 – hole group wants to make sure that they are able to gain season long
points for participation in sponsored events. Tom Taylor said he would work with
Tom Vaughn to find a way through GG to allow participation points to be earned
for the C Cup.

L Johnson: CMC Website Through Lloyd’s guidance, we have been able to use
credit cards and have a very attractive CMC website for Events, Rules, Results,
Game descriptions, etc. Most recently, Lloyd says the ‘posters’ for upcoming golf
& social events will disappear from the site 3 days after the scheduled date then
rotate to the next in line. This keeps the website updated. Nice.

M Brown: OGA Mike said that Gretchen, OGA Course Rater, visited the Yellow
Course with him last week. She will download her new ‘numbers’ for Mike and
Chris Bensel to use for modification to the score cards, if needed. We may have a
new ‘slope’ rating and handicap numbers prior to the season. This will be
reflected on GHIN numbers as we post scores. More on this come in the next
month.
